Leafs Alum Hartman Commits to Miami University

2009-12-08

Congratulations to former Leaf player Ryan Hartman...

Congratulations to former Leaf player Ryan Hartman, currently a member of the Chicago Mission’s midget minor team, who has received a verbal commitment to attend Miami University on a full hockey scholarship starting with the 2013 season.  The Miami University Redhawks are currently the number one ranked team in NCAA Division I hockey and are last season’s national runner-up.

Ryan is the son of Leafs Mite Gold coach Craig Hartman (and older brother of Mite Gold player Tanner).  He was a key member of the 2002-2003 Leafs Mite AA team that won the NIHL President’s Cup and the Blackhawk Cup state championship and is currently the leading scorer on his Chicago Mission team, which is also ranked number one in the country.  He is a freshman at Fremd High School and one of only six 1994 birth year skaters in the U.S. and Canada to have received verbal commitments to college already.

This is a tremendous accomplishment for a former Leaf.  Congratulations to Ryan and his family for the dedication and commitment they made to achieve this.
